Compare the folded size as carefully as the open size. Ask whether they want a stand at all before choosing one for a shared counter or desk.

3. Dividers for one measured drawer

Drawer dividers work best when the actual internal width, depth, and height are known. Check how they are secured, whether the drawer can still close, and how much space the divider itself consumes. Choose a small set for an agreed purpose, such as stationery or socks. A precise fit is more useful than an assortment that needs another storage box.

4. Hooks with an agreed home

Choose the location before choosing the hook. Confirm the surface, fixing method, clearance, intended load, and any rental restrictions. Follow the exact manufacturer's installation and removal instructions. For an over-door option, check the door thickness and the gap above it. Offer to help with an installation the recipient has chosen rather than giving them an unexpected project.
